Program Overview
Led by a panel of key opinion leaders and experts, this CME program discusses updates in prostate screening and prevention. Physicians and other health care providers will gain a better understanding of how common prostate cancer is and who the disease affects. Current recommendations for prostate cancer screening, including risks and benefits will be profiled. Recent studies regarding diet and medications for prostate cancer prevention will also be addressed.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Review the epidemiology of prostate cancer.
- Discuss current recommendations regarding prostate cancer screening, including the role of race, age, and family history.
- Explain the risks and benefits of prostate cancer screening.
- Review current research regarding the use of 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors to reduce prostate cancer risk.
- Outline recent studies regarding diet and other medications for prostate cancer prevention.
