Program Overview
Blood glucose monitoring is an important tool in the achievement of glycemic control in the diabetic population. Postprandial glucose monitoring is an effective measure with which many physicians are unfamiliar. By incorporating postprandial glucose measurements into the overall strategy of diabetic management, physicians can more effectively manage diabetic patients and minimize complications.
Discovery Health CME has engaged a panel of experts to discuss the incorporation of PPG monitoring into the management of diabetic patients.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe the most recent epidemiology of diabetes.
- Explain the importance of effective diabetes management.
- Understand the roles of postprandial glucose monitoring in diabetes management.
- Describe what agents can be used to improve postprandial glycemia.
- Review effective behavioral strategies to encourage patients to monitor postprandial glucose levels.
