Program Overview
Approximately 12% of U.S. adults suffer from migraine headache. Despite the availability of effective treatments, migraine often goes undiagnosed or is misdiagnosed. This CME program, Migraine: Relieving The Pain, will feature a panel of key opinion leaders to discuss migraine pathophysiology, diagnostic criteria, and new treatment options.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the epidemiology of migraine.
- Discuss the socioeconomic effects and medical comorbidities associated with migraine.
- Review the diagnostic criteria of migraine.
- Explain current understanding of the pathophysiology of migraine, including the concept of central sensitization.
- Review pharmacologic approaches to acute migraine treatment.
Target Audience
Primary Care Physicians, Neurologists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other health care professionals.
