Dr. Alan M. Altman is Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. He is a practicing gynecologist specializing in Peri and Post Menopausal care and issues of Midlife Sexuality. He is President-Elect of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH). Dr. Altman is author of Making Love the Way We Used To... Or Better; Secrets to Satisfying Midlife Sexuality; McGraw-Hill, 2000. Author of chapter on "Midlife Sexuality" in Textbook of Perimenopausal Gynecology; Parthenon Publishing, 2004. Co-author of "Available Therapies and Outcome Results in Transition and Post Menopausal Women" in ; Women's Sexual Function and Dysfunction; Study,Diagnosis and Treatment; Goldstein I, Meston C, Davis S, & Traish A, editors. Taylor and Francis, UK, 2005; p.549-559. Co-Editor of Sexuality in Midlife and Beyond; Harvard Medical School Special Health Report, 2003. Dr. Altman is Chairman of national faculty for CME initiative Hormone Therapy: Assessing the evidence for transdermal options; University of Wisconsin Medical School; 2005. Co-Author of "The Diagnosis and Treatment of Sexual Problems" in the Textbook of Psychosomatic Medicine; 2006. Co-Author of The Betrayal of American Women; Don't throw away those hormones so quickly! in press... co-authored with Dr. Barbara Levy. Dr Altman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania; BA in Biology 1970. NYU School of Medicine; MD 1975. Internship & Residency; Boston Lying-In Hospital; Boston Hospital for Women 1975-79.
