Christopher D. Still is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Penn State. At Geisinger, he is an Associate Physician for Internal Medicine and the Director for the Center for Nutrition and Weight Management.
The Center for Health Research & Rural Advocacy is committed to helping morbidly obese patients manage their weight. To date, Dr. Still has accumulated clinical, outcomes, lab and tissue data on roughly 4,000 morbidly obese patients.
As a physician nutrition specialist, Dr. Still has been studying developments in nutrition and obesity for nearly a decade. His work has included research into genetic markers for obesity and diabetes; the metabolic differences among obese, formerly obese, and normal-weight men; metabolic and psychologic changes in bariatric surgery patients; non-alcoholic steatohepatitis in obese females and leptin level determination among elderly obese women.
Dr. Still is an active member of NAASO and ASPEN, as well as a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Nutrition. He serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the National CDC task force on obesity.
He has authored articles and book chapters on obesity and nutrition and is active in teaching both students and house staff. Dr. Still is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Nutrition and the American College of Nutrition, among others.
Dr. Still graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in animal bioscience. He holds a Master's degree in human nutrition from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, and a DO in osteopathic medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
