Program Overview
Discovery Health CME has traveled the globe to produce a first-ever continuing medical education documentary revealing the impact the globalization of the world has had on the incidence and prevalence of diabetes, and the economic and human toll of this rising epidemic.
With Discovery Health cameras following, leading diabetes authority Francine R. Kaufman, M.D. visited India, Australia, Brazil, Africa, Europe and North America, having discussions with physicians, patients and diabetes thought leaders on the challenges and success stories of this newest epidemic.
The result is an hour of Continuing Medical Education so compelling and real that physicians will have a whole new understanding for the way diabetes has grown worldwide, and appreciation for the resources we have in the United States for its care. The program focuses not so much on the state of the science in diabetes care, but more on the relationship between the cultures of the countries visited and the global epidemic of diabetes.
