The goal is to educate clinicians, especially primary care providers, on diagnosing and treating overweight and obesity in adults. The tool will provide clinicians with the latest recommendations, and an overview of the resources available to help them diagnose and treat overweight adults. Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
  1. Identify the epidemiology for obese adults.
  2. Calculate body mass index (BMI)
  3. Discuss the health problems that can be related to obesity.
  4. Describe the recommendations for nutrition.
  5. Describe the recommendations for physical activity.
  6. Discuss pharmacologic indications for obesity treatment.
  7. Describe the recommendations for surgical treatment.
